Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Review Baton, a hosted service that follows pull and merge requests and posts notifications and reminders into your chat workspace. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Review Baton is operated by Aleksandr Kazakov, an individual entrepreneur registered in Tbilisi, Georgia. You can reach us at support@reviewbaton.com.
2. The service
Review Baton connects to your source control (GitHub or GitLab, including self-hosted GitLab) and to your chat workspace (Slack or Telegram), and posts a thread for each open pull or merge request, with reminders for whoever the review is waiting on.
We improve and change the service over time. We will not remove a substantial part of what you are paying for without telling you by email first.
3. Your account
You must be able to enter into a contract, and if you sign up for a company you confirm you are allowed to do so on its behalf. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including the actions of the people you invite and the access tokens you connect.
Keep your sign-in email address current: it is the only way we can reach you, and it is how you sign in.
4. Trial
New accounts get fourteen days of full access without a payment method. We may withdraw or shorten trials for accounts that are obviously abusing them; we will not do that quietly.
5. Fees, billing and cancellation
The paid plan is $49 per month or $490 per year, excluding tax. Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record: Paddle is the seller on your invoice, is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable taxes, and handles your payment details. Paddle’s own terms apply to that transaction, and we never receive your card data.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate cancellations mid-period.
Refunds: we refund a payment in full if you ask within 14 days of it. Statutory rights you have as a consumer in your country are not affected by this paragraph.
If a payment fails, we will keep the service running through a grace period and tell you what is happening before anything stops.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to send unsolicited messages to people who have not agreed to receive them, to attack or overload our systems or anyone else’s, or to work around the limits of the plan you are on. Do not resell the service as your own without a written agreement.
7. Your data
Your repository and chat data remain yours. We process it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your data to train machine learning models, and we do not sell it.
You can delete your account at any time; deletion removes your account data on the schedule set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
The service depends on GitHub, GitLab, Slack and Telegram. Their APIs, rate limits and policies change without asking us, and an outage on their side is an outage of the parts of our service that depend on them. We are not responsible for those services, only for how we use them.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the service running continuously and monitor it from outside our own infrastructure. We do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on this plan, and it would be dishonest to print a number we have not committed to defending with credits.
Notifications are queued and retried rather than dropped: a delivery that fails because a chat platform is unavailable is retried until it succeeds or is dead-lettered for us to look at.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 6, that has not paid after the grace period, or that we are legally required to stop serving. Except for serious abuse or a legal obligation, we will contact you before suspending anything.
You may stop using the service at any time.
11. Warranties and liability
The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of defects, and we do not promise that it will cause your reviews to be faster — that depends on your team.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost data, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
12. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change we will email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of a prepaid period.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Georgia, and disputes go to the courts there, unless mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise.
